Profiles are important, I think, so here goes:
I'm a DFH who's felt the Bern and is as comfortable in an old pair of jeans as a new pair of jeans. Don't have to be Dad, Dad, Dad, anymore, so I'm just looking for more, I guess. I'm on a journey to rediscover me and would like to find someone with whom to make at least part of that journey. Things are good but could always be better with the right person. I take what I do seriously but don't take myself too seriously. Love to laugh.....a lot. Am an unrepentant leftie and it'd be good if you are, too. Not necessary, though. I'm open-minded & enjoy the back and forth with people who don't share all my views. Kinda presumptuous to think you're right about almost everything, right? At least to the point of inflexibility.....I'd rather talk it out. You learn stuff that way. As I age, I'm finding that I have beliefs and views in common with people with whom I'd never have thought I had any common ground. Music tells you.....something. I like classic (nice way to say old?) rock stuff, especially Hot Tuna. Also like folkies, Woody and Arlo, Phil Ochs, Dylan, etc. Never took the opportunity to get into much else, musically, but I'm very open to it. Like old black and white movies, Thin Man, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd.
I really appreciate good profiles, so I'm sorry that mine is a stream-of-consciousness mess. I'll be back at some point to fix it but it's a start. Sorta like a first draft.
Just looking for somebody who gets me & I, her. Well-educated is nice but formal education is overrated. Interest in current affairs is necessary. I'm not a driver but I am a commuter extraordinaire. Living at the Jersey Shore, now, but spent my formative years commuting from NJ to high school on the UES. Love the City. Crazy about the Rangers and college football. Survived a very nasty bout with COVID before it was even a pandemic & people were still calling it "coronavirus". I have 4 adult kids who don't live with or near me but are my pride and joy in life. Each turned out to be unique but they share being progressive-thinking, questioning, open - minded, & accepting. I'd like to think I'm a good listener and look forward to learning from anybody I meet. I'm thoughtful and introspective.

I said that already, no? She gets me and I, her. Yeah, said that. Politics and current events are important to her. She's funny as hell and loves to laugh-especially at herself and me. Is well-educated and-or well-read.
Bonus points for being Progressive (not Liberal)(Liberal is fine; just no bonus points is all). Extra bonus points for liking the Rangers (LGR!! !!!) and-or college football (especially BC &or Rutgers), NYY, NYK & NYG too.
Don't understand profiles that tell me the author is "attractive", "sophisticated" , "classy" or stuff that's at best subjective & other people will judge & weigh its importance to them. Yeah, I know I've put stuff in here that could be called "subjective" but I'm hoping it's not completely meaningless and gives an idea of what I value.
On Saturdays,September through January I'm...uh... invested, should we say, in college football and that's just a rut and one of the reasons I'm here trying to find someone to do something else with and enjoy that sometimes. The Jesuits taught me to appreciate art & music but I've never *enjoyed* enough of that and I've missed out and I'd like to change that.
I'll trust what you say your friends say about you, but I'm hoping for somebody more introspective and articulate enough to tell me, herself.
I'm quite certain Trump is a sh*tbag.
I'm not in a rush. I think the prelims are necessary-texts, phone calls. Lay groundwork for a meeting and perhaps an actual date.
Finally, if you think pineapple goes on pizza, I can't trust your judgement.
